OzViz 2006 is hosted by the Western Australian Supercomputer Project (WASP) - a new state-of-the-art visualisation facility at the University of Western Australia, in association with iVEC and the UWA Communication Studies Program.

Ozviz2006 is generously supported by the Australian Partnership for Advanced Computing (APAC) and iVEC.

This workshop will be held in the spirit of previous ones: short, practical presentations by people who are active practitioners in the visualisation field.

OzViz will run October Mon 30 - Tues 31 2006.

Registration desk is open from 9am on the 30th October on the ground floor floyer of the Physics building, University of Western Australia.

ozviz_2006 wraps up

Today marked the concluding day of ozviz_2006, which attracted over 30 participants and attendees from institutions and organisations across Australia - quite a success considering the extra travelling involved to Western Australia!

In the next few weeks we will will be posting video and photographs of the event, along with abstracts of the various talks and details about the presenters. It was generally agreed that to drive OzViz forward it would be good to consolidate the visualisation community around a potential central location such as this website - making it possible for participants to subscribe to RSS feeds, post appropriate and relevant information as well as details of individual research activities.

Presentation Program

We have an exciting program of presentations for this year's workshop.

The final list is here.

Ranging from Antarctic visualisation to Chemistry and Crystallography, VJ-ing in Planetaria to Live Renderfarming, Blender parallel rendering to Complex Dataset Visualisation on supercomputer clusters, Photogrammetry and Geological visualisation, Non-Euclidian tilings to Simulation Spaces - the future of visualisation challenges.

Much to think about, absorb and discuss - in a meeting of the minds by people who actually do this stuff.

We look forward to seeing you next week for the most broad-ranging Ozviz ever.
